Mediant 2000/8 Span is a high-performance digital voice gateway with support for 8 E1 digital streams, designed for combining VoIP networks and POTS networks, as well as for tunneling TDM and SS7 channels.
AudioCodes Mediant 2000 VoIP Gateway is a media gateway with support for up to 16 E1 digital streams, designed to combine VoIP networks and POTS networks, as well as for tunneling TDM and SS7 channels.
The gateway has a modular structure and is designed as a 1U/19” chassis with the ability to be mounted in communication cabinets. Mediant 2000 supports 2 types of TDM signaling: PRI and CAS and 4 types of VoIP signaling: SIP, H.323, MGSP, MEGACO, which makes it compatible with different equipment from many vendors.
A large number of supported codecs and the presence of a function for changing the buffer size to suppress jitter make it possible to configure the required voice transmission quality depending on the characteristics of the IP channel. This gateway can be used when building operator networks and for combining branches of a distributed corporate network.
