DMG1000 gateways each contain 8 digital PBX emulation interfaces and a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet connection for connection to a local area network. An analog loop starter unit is designed for voice mail and unified messaging applications and is also available for connection to PBXs that do not have a corresponding digital interface. The analog loop starter unit supports integration using in-band signaling (DTMF or FSK) or serial protocol (SMDI, MCI, and MD-110).

The DMG1000 Gateways provide a simple, cost-effective transition to voice and data convergence for enterprises with PBXs. Changes are externally linked, offering an IP solution that works with current legacy equipment. They support SIP applications as well as T.38 fax over IP (FoIP).

Gateway features include:

* Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) - Supports SIP in RFC 3261. Uses Real-Time Transport Protocol/Real-Time Control Protocol (RTP/RTCP) to transmit voice over a local or wide area network
* IP Security - Supports TLS for SIP messages, SRTP for media and HTTPS for web interface
* Advanced voice processing – support for various compression algorithms, including G.711 and G.723.1, and G.729ab
* T.38 Fax from Internet Protocol (FoIP) - Emulation units transcode fax from T.30 fax protocol, support V.17, V.21, V.27, V.29 and modulation schemes to T.38 for packet network transmission
* Hot swap – allows you to add or remove changes without affecting other gateway units
* Web Server Interface – Each gateway device comes with a web server interface that allows you to configure and update the software via a web browser.
