8 port modular analog PCI-Express x1 3.3V card with 1 Station and 5 Trunk interfaces and HW Echo Can
Known for its Asterisk hardware, Digium has introduced a new port card, the Digium AEX800. The company says it is the first expansion card with eight FXO/FXS ports designed for PCI Express VoIP systems.
The AEX800 board occupies one PCI Express slot and is equipped with eight RJ-11 sockets. This, firstly, reduces the need for mounting places in the server case, and, secondly, eliminates the need for extension cables and other additional elements that are potential reasons for refusals.
Each AEX800 port is independently configurable for intra-office or long-distance operation. Hardware echo cancellation is available on all eight channels to improve call quality.
Thus, the use of the board does not require special cables to output lines to the cross-panel, and also saves space in the VoIP telephony server.
Traditionally, the board allows you to assemble almost any configuration of FXO and FXS ports. For this, the AEX800P has two banks of ports with 4 analog interfaces. Each bank can be equipped with either a 4-port S400M (FXS) or X400M (FXO) module, or 2 single-port S110M (FXS) or X100M (FXO). Accordingly, using 4-port modules is more advantageous for achieving maximum capacity. But support for single-port modules allows owners of Asterisk boards based on TDM400P to switch to the PCI Express bus by purchasing only the AEX800P base board without additional modules.
Like previous Digium boards, the AEX800P can be equipped with an optional hardware echo cancellation module VPMADT032. In case of failure of this option, it is proposed to use the High Performance Echo Cancellation (HPEC) software solution for echo cancellation, which supports the G.168 specification and suppresses echo in the range from 16 to 128 ms.
